[opencms-dev] OPENCMS equals MODULES??

Hi all
Is there anybody who has tryed to modified the face of the workplace??
:)
Is workplace a module imported by opencms during setup?? Could I modify the 
workplace modules in order to modify the 
workplace??

If so , then what is opencms??  OPENCMS equals MODULES?? or we may say that 
every part of it is a module?  is this view correct??  where is the brain 
of opencms??
