Hello Kai,

For some wierd reason the resources that should be in the module werent exported with the last version - I will log a bug in the opencms bugzilla.

I will also produce a new dk.kb.documentation module including the actual documentation when I get back to work tomorrow.

Sorry about the snafu.

Cheers,

Carl

Hi Carl,
I downloaded all the modules from http://www.kb.dk/en/kb/it/dup/KBSuite.html.
When unzipping dk.kb.documentation_0.19.zip, there is no folder /sites/default/en/....
It only consists a /system/modules... and /system/workplace... folder.
Because of that, there is no documentation page installed.

I did a clean OpenCms 7.0.4 installation. Including the template two demo. Nothing else.

I guess the /en/kb-documentation/index.html you mention is just missing in the module package.

Is that possible.

Thanks for your help.
Kai

Kai,

The dk.kb.documentation module should install a small site containing viewable pages.
Have you tried viewing /en/kb-documentation/index.html and that failed ?

The documentation does include some step by step instructions - e.g. there is a "hello world" example that
will take you in great detail through creating a page, creating a component type, creating a template, creating rendering methods etc.

Note that many resource types are not supposed to be renderable by themselves, but only when included on pages.

Have you installed it on a new empty cms, or on a cms where other stuff possibly conflicting with the KB Suite also exists ?

If you get an error when attempting to display the /en/kb-documentation/index.html page, could you
send me a stack trace ?

Cheers,

Carl

Hi Carl, hi Marc, hi list,

I am currently playing around with your KB Suite which looks great.
I want to give you my feedback on it
I installed all modules in the correct order with worked smoothly (did a tomcat restart afterwards).
I was also able to create files for all of your content types.

I created a "kbdemo_standardside" type file and choose as a component a formerly created "lokalmenu" type file.
So far the creation of pages seems to be easy.

Unfortunately I ran into a few problems:
	 - The biggest one is that no matter what content type I click on to display the content I get the error message " It's not possible to get the String value of a nested XML content definition."
	 - Another problem is, that I don't know how to combine the different content types.
	 - The documentation module does not contain files i can directly click on and have an explanation on how to use your suite. I expected a module similar to the documentation modules from Alkacon.

My question to you is, if you can give a short (step by step) explanation on how to use your suite.

I am sorry to bother you with this, because you did great work. The possiblities with the KB suite seem to be great. But I simply don't know how to use it.

	Regards

	Kai

	Hello Marc,

Did you have problems getting the documentation to work ?

Or did you find it hard to understand ?

The roles of the different resource types should be explained in it.

If you don't specify any menus, inherited content etc. the areas set aside for them by the templates
will simply be blank, so you should be able to create your resources in any order desires - except
you have to create a component before you use it on a page.

The documentaion provided in the dk.kb.documentaion module is also intended as a demo
of one way you can use the KB suite to build a site - the templates included aren't really
intended for building a real world useful site, but rather as a help to show how the functionality
of the KB Suite can be used in templates for "real" sites - actually they are simplified
versions of some of the templates we use on our site.

Was there anything specifik you had problems with ?

	Cheers,

	Carl

	Hello Alex,
First, thank you very much for this work!

Can you tell me the steps to build a new site using your template? There is
a series of new files (Main menu,Local Menu,kbdemo_StandardSid; etc..) What
	in first time?
	Kind regards,
	MARC

	Hello,

At the Danish Royal Library in Copenhagen we have just released the first
modules containing functionality we have developed for building our web site
	using OpenCms.

They are all available under the LGPL license and sources are available by
	request.

Right now the following five modules are available for download:
	dk.kb.component - our base component framework dk.kb.componentlib - some
component types dk.kb.menu - an alternative method for building menus in
OpenCms dk.kb.hspalte - a mechanism for inheriting content
dk.kb.documentation - the base documentation of the KB suite - documentation
and demo of the modules listed above plus other presentation on how we do
things on our site (handling multi lingual sites etc.)

more are in the pipeline - they are in the process of being properly
	documented.

If you want to know more I will be happy to answer questions and discuss
	this in Köln next week.

	You can download it here:

	http://www.kb.dk/en/kb/it/dup/KBSuite.html

	Cheers,

	Carl
