[opencms-dev] Integrating J2EE application with OpenCMS

Hello everyone

I have an existing J2EE based eCommerce application (JSPs, servlets etc).
How can I go about integrating this application with openCMS? I would like
to get the site layout administration and workflow on a couple of my pages.

The eCommerce application has an existing product administration, and an
existing product detail page as well as shopping cart functionality. What is
missing for example, is for us to be able to easily configure the site
layout for the product detail page so that an end user on one day may for
example see related product promotions to the left of the page and on
another day on the right, based on administration of site layout. Is OpenCMS
the right solution to make this happen? (some very basic questions, I know!)

I did notice that quite a few retail sites are using OpenCMS.

http://www.opencms.org/en/support/references/retail.html

However, it is not clear to me if they were built from scratch using OpenCMS
as a base, or whether OpenCMS was integrated with some other
product/application. Tommy Hilfer site (www.tommy.com) seems to be a J2EE
based application, but again not sure if OpenCMS is only used for the
original landing page and if not how the application was integrated with
OpenCMS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Harinee
