[opencms-dev] opencms backups

Hello Marko,
as a starting point:
You could use the CMS Shell (see http://opencms-wiki.org/CMS_Shell) in a
script to make module backups, if you have to use a cron job on os level.
You also could set up a scheduled task within OpenCms, however, to make a
database export.
The copying/moving to your storage could be made by another script - or
you can use a backup software for this, depending on your environment.
Hint: It's also a good idea to backup the opencms config folder.
Best regards
Christian Hellinger

Subject: [opencms-dev] opencms backups
Sent by: opencms-dev-bounces at opencms.org
Hi folks,
I would like to set up a cron job that will make a backup of my OpenCMS
installation at midnight. I want backups for the last seven days. As the
data do not reside in the file system I can't just make a TGZ of
everything and copy it to some backup directory, presumably with the
suitably formatted output of "date" appended to the file name.
What is the best way of going about this?
Thanks!
Marko
