[opencms-dev] (silly question ?) Why so many white space in sources ?

Hi Siegfried,

Such useless whitespaces may be a result of a human-readable-formatted .jsp template.
If you use whitespaces in your jsp to make it readable by humans, these whitespaces might appear also in the generated pages. This is also true for "new-lines".
To prevent this, one has to set aside the goal of having pretty-formatted human-readable jsp-source-code.

Regards,
Manfred

Looking at http://www.opencms.org/en/ source code, there are a lot of white space.
Where does it come from ?
Is there a way to clean pages from this useless space ?

Thanks

Siegfried Ehret
