Hello Veronica,

the group container is a specific resource type in OpenCms 8, which does
not have content itself, but can contain different other elements
available on your system. If a group container is dropped into several
container pages, you only need to edit its content on one container
page. These changes will be applied on all container pages, where this
group container is used.

With Ade enabled the group container can be dragged from the add dialog
and dropped into any container page. It makes sence to drop the group
container into the model container page, which is ussually in
./contnet/.new folder and configured into the sitemap configuration. If
it is used in the model container page, the group container defines a
common area on your web site, that will be the same on all you pages,
which use this model page.

To edit the group container use the direct edit button on the group
container. An overlay hides the container page and now you can drag and
drop the required elements from the add dialog.

You can find a detailed example of how to use group container inside a
model container page in the Developer Demo Module for OpenCms 8.
