Actually the CSS files and all of that was pointed directly but before it www.[sitename].com<http://www.[sitename].com> for the basic but on the new server because I haven't changed anything yet its localhost:8080/opencms/opencms/ instead of just localhost:8080.

Thanks,
Seth

Paul,
I did it your way but I must have missed something. It looks like all of the text and most of the images are there but its missing the stylesheets. Haha. I think I'll have it figured out soon but thanks again!

Thanks,
Seth

Hi Seth,

Yes. I've done this on several occasions, and it's fairly simple - you can export whatever you need using the tools in the Administration view.

1.) On your old server, export all modules you will need using the Module Management tool. You will find the exported .zip files located at {TOMCAT_HOME}/webapps/{OPENCMS_WEBAPP_NAME}/WEB_INF/packages/modules/.

2.) On your new server, import the modules using one of the Import Module tools.

3.) Then, export all your content (if you didn't export it as part of any of your modules) using the Database Management -> Export Database tool. This will produce a .zip file, which you can import on your new server. You will find the exported .zip located at {TOMCAT_HOME}/webapps/{OPENCMS_WEBAPP_NAME}/WEB_INF/packages/. Copy this .zip to the equivalent folder on your new server.

4.) Importing content on your new server can now be done in the same Admin panel, using "Import File from Server". (Alternatively, if you did not copy the .zip onto your new server, use "Import File with HTTP".)

NOTE: If you use the Export Database tool, I recommend you first make sure your site folders (e.g. /sites/mysite/) have identical names, and you should also set your Site to "/" before you start any export or import.

Good luck & Have fun! :)

Cheers,
Paul

Heres an odd situation. I'm currently in the process of moving my web site from a linux server to a Windows server. I have already gotten OpenCMS installed, running, and configured on the new windows server. Is there a way to export that site from the linux server to the new windows server?

Thanks,
Seth
