[opencms-dev] Correct use of handle404 in v8 of OpenCms?

Looking at the wiki, the instructions are inconsistent and seem woefully
out of date.

Does anyone use the handle404 mechanism to export content and if so, can
you provide working examples? Specifically, Apache 2, Tomcat 6 or 7 and
OpenCms 8.
