[opencms-dev] Problem with video files mp4/ogv - OpenCMS 7.0.5

Opinions will, I'm sure, vary on whether OpenCms is the best way of serving your video files - it's certainly not very storage-efficient for larger content like that, since you'll have at least two copies (offline and online) stored in your database, as well as possibly a static-export copy.

That said, we do serve quite a few mp4 and m4v files from our OpenCms (v7.5.3) installation, both for playback using FlowPlayer and in some cases for direct download.  If I'm remembering right, I needed to tweak WEB-INF/config/opencms-vfs.xml to map those extensions into the "binary" filetype and assign them an appropriate mimetype to get them to behave everywhere.
