[opencms-dev] Persist sessions across tomcat reboots

Dear all,

after some research and tests, I'm afraid that the OpenCms session doesn't
persist across tomcat restarts. I could even find a mail pointing out this
limitation:

The reason was that CmsWorkplaceSettings wasn't serializable. It is a
pretty old issue (2009, OpenCms 7.0), and I was wondering if the situation
has changed?

Though irrelevant (I'm not interested in any given version), I'm testing
OpenCms 9+ with Tomcat 6.0.43+
