Hello,
this sounds like you have to change your JVM memory params like Xmx. Choose at least 2048M. What might help as well is to remove all other webapps from your Tomcat webapps directory.
Please think about changing your Tomcat installation path. There seems to be a problem generating the opencms.log file in version 9.5 when the installation path contains whitespaces.
I cannot help you with the other things.
Best regards
Kai

Betreff: [opencms-dev] OpenCMS 9.5 + Firebird 2.5 infinite modules importing during Setup

Hello, guys.
Since yesterday I've been trying to run OpenCMS with Firebird without any success under this configuration:
OpenCMS 9.5.1 (I also tried the last master built from source);
Firebird 2.5.4 x64;
Windows 7 x64;
Java 6 (tried 1.8 as well);
Tomcat 7.0.

During the setup DB and DB's structure are created as they are supposed to, but step 8 (importing modules) seems to run infinetely. At least, I left my PC for last night and it made no progress.

I also tried fresher jaybird driver, but in vain. Perhaps, the problem doesn't have anything to do with Firebird support at all? Have you any suggestions how can I fix it? The importing modules finishes only when there are no modules selected. That is, when there is nothing to import. If I choose even one single module the process never ends.

And yet another question if you don't mind:) We have some clients who need to use Firebird + OpenCMS and they complain about performance. The one thing I'm almost sure of - it's not on Firebird's side.
It looks like for any action (e.g., to render some form) cms wraps all the queries into autonomous transactions which is hardly the optimal behaviour.
I don't mind of optimizing Firebird's support in OpenCMS on my own. But it would be awesome to have some advices from people who know how OpenCMS works internally. So that I will understand where to start and where to move.
