[opencms-dev] what's going on ? - pages do not show from workplace

Don't know whether it's due to upgrading to 9.5.2 recently but when I
click on an index.htm page in the workplace view, an empty page opens in FF,
with the following URL:
http://cms.myintranet.de/system/workplace/commons/displayresource.jsp?resource=/index.htm

Clicking to view page source it jumps to (shows in the title bar) 
http://cms.intranet.de/de/

Also switching to the workplace view as Admin (from the ADE view) gives 
an empty page .
It tries to open:
