I feared that there is no possibility for exporting versions.

yep de wizard upgrade doesn't work from 6 to 9. The upgrade is useful for 2 versions up.
i think there is no trick, you just need to export the content and modules from version 6 and pass to the 9 without trouble. From the 7 to 9 i did it without troubles. Just remember xml page is not supported in 9v.
