[opencms-dev] Page wide config

Hello,

i’m just wondering what would be the best/suggested way to configure properties for a complete page - but with access to pictures (galleries), being able to add one or multiple pictures (list) to the page’s property.

I have a templete where for all pages on the site is a different background image and additionally a slider showing pictures - which should be different to each page. As this should be there for all pages I don’t want to place that in formatter - because i want to have it mandatory for the pages. 
Page properties apparently only provide strings and select boxes ...

At the moment i created a fake formatter with hidden content to provide advanced configuration features, however this is not a good solution.  

Is there a „best practice“ for that problem ?
