thanks for your answer.
I understand that. I used "direct edit" as start view but still get that message.
Is it possible, that I cannot use the standard OpenCms login page (e.g. /.../system/login/)?

Hi Kai,
the "Element Author" role was created for users to be able to edit contents using direct edit only. If you want to create a user with workplace access, use the role "Workplace User".
