[opencms-dev] creating list of CmsJspNavElements with getNavigationForFolder when folder is a navigation level

I'm using the following line of code to create a list of nav elements, however when sub is a navigation level it returns an empty list even though there are folders within, is there another way of creating a list of nav elements from a navigation level folder?

List<CmsJspNavElement> filesInSub = nav.getNavigationForFolder(sub.getResourceName());
