Hello, best peopele.

My sitemap-icon (and Page editor) is grayed out in both Quick launch and Launchpad. I am new to OpenCMS, and I find the documentation not consistent.
It does not tell me howto get them back in working order.

Best regards, Atle Enersen

Hello Atle,

please check if you are positioned on "Root folder" (see the following
image): in this case the app "Page editor" and "Sitemap" are not available.
To make them available you have to choose your web site (see the last image).

Kind regards
Antonio Cordeddu

Hello,

The section of the JSP spec which you quote from is about tag files (JSP tags defined via JSP code, in files named *.tag) and not tag handlers (tags defined via Java classes, like e.g. <cms:formatter> is).
Specifically, it is about the variable directive. The point is that a variable declaration like this:

<%@ variable alias="result" name-from-attribute="*var*" scope="AT_END"
declare="true" %>

requires an attribute declaration for "var" like this:

<%@ attribute name="*var*" *type="java.lang.String" required="true"
rtexprvalue="false"* %>

So you need to look at the tag files you are writing/using, not the built-in <cms:...> tags.

Kind regards,
Georg

Hey Giuseppe (an to everyone who is interested in WebP with OpenCms),

Therefore the problem cannot be solved.
I beg to differ, I solved this with the library "webp-imageio" described here:
https://genuinecoder.com/java-webp-image-read-save-tutorial/

webp-imageio adds native support for WebP to Java, so the native image methods used in OpenCms image scaling also work with WebP. It’s really as simple as dropping the jar in the lib folder (or defining a Maven/Gradle dependency).

My first tests are really promising, image sizes in the CMS are now correct (instead of -1 x -1), image scaling of WebP images is working as expected. So far so good.
It’s important to know that you have to re-upload WebP images, I guess the size is read during the initial upload, once wrong it doesn’t get corrected by using the library. But after re-uploading the image, everything seems to be fine.
If I for some reason find that this does not work as expected in the end, I’ll report.

@Alkacon: it might be a good idea to add this as a dependency for the OpenCms core, that way WebP should work as expected.

Cheers

Kai

HI,
on opencms version 14 there are problems displaying images in webp format.
In particular, in the preview inside content the image is not resized, unlike the jpg ones.

Also the scaling of the image with the command image.webp?__scale=w:1200,h:1200,t:2,c:transparent,p:0 does not work (it should become a square image instead it keeps the original format).

Finally, due to this problem the image gallery is very slow to load.

A thousand thanks
Greetings Joseph

Hi Kai,

thanks, that sounds great. I gave your comment on GitHub a Thumbs up. Maybe it makes it into the upcoming release.

Dear Sir / Madum,

We are now trying to move our website from opencms 8.5 to opencms 15

We would like to add a content search feature in our website with the following behaviour:
When user search in locale zh_HK with English keyword, cms search should also look up locale en content and return the en content if the en content match the searching keyword.

Now, we are able to search en content, but it cannot show the en_excerpt / highlightSnippet of en content.

As we was using opencms 8.5 before, and it would able to return the search result regardless the current locale.

E.g.
a.html
en title : Testing
en content : Testing ABC

zh_HK title : 測試
zh_HK content : 測試 ABC

In opencms 8, when user search “Testing” in locale zh_HK search page, the following information will be result Testing Testing ABC

However, in opencms 15,
Testing
<blank>

Would you advise how should we config the search setting in order to obtain the same result as opencms 8?

How to config the cmssearch to ignore the locale

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Elaine

Thanks Kai for the hint.
We will run some checks and if everything works as expected we will include this lib for OpenCms 16.

Kind regards,
Alex.

@Alkacon: it might be a good idea to add this as a dependency for the OpenCms core, that way WebP should work as expected.

Thanks Kai for the hint.
We will run some checks and if everything works as expected we will include this lib for OpenCms 16.

Kind regards,
Alex.

Hi Kai,
unfortunately on the opencms issues they wrote that the ImageScaler library does not support that format.
Therefore the problem cannot be solved.

Greetings Giuseppe

HI,
on opencms version 14 there are problems displaying images in webp format.
