hello,<BR>
i have a problem that has already been posted on this list, however, i <BR>
could not find any ideas or solutions within the replies.<BR>
<BR>
i followed the instructions given here: <BR>
<A href="parse.pl?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fopencms-forum.de%2Fviewtopic.php" target=_blank><FONT color=red>http://opencms-forum.de/viewtopic.php</FONT></A>? <BR>
p=2122&sid=d3e979481d32039e4140f70749b134a7<BR>
(was posted on the mailing list, but i couldn't retrieve the link)<BR>
<BR>
and i get the following errors<BR>
<BR>
If I click in mydetail.jsp, I get the error: Error reading resource <BR>
from path "/"<BR>
If I click in myarticle.html (the XML file), I get this one: Error <BR>
reading resource from path "/myfolder/mydetail.jsp"<BR>
<BR>
there has been a hint about using <CMS:INFO>to resolve some <BR>
path-related problems, but it didn't help me very much, as i don't know <BR>
what creates the problem.<BR>
thanks in advance for any advice on how to deal with this.<BR>

It seems the HTML is hardcoded into the org.opencms.workplace.CmsLogin class<BR>
(is that ever a good idea?)<BR>
<BR>
Yes, I think it's one of the most exciting improvements of OpenCMS 6, just<BR>
like what the Graphic User Interface did. I should say it's much faster to<BR>
develop a new web application than ever.<BR>
<BR>
Shi Yusen/Beijing Langhua Ltd.<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
It seems the HTML is hardcoded into the<BR>
org.opencms.workplace.CmsLogin class (is that ever a good idea?)<BR>
<BR>
However the styling is via the CSS file<BR>
/system/workplace/commons/style/workplace.css<BR>
<BR>
It's possible that you can achieve what you want by changing the CSS<BR>
and not the HTML code.<BR>

As a newcommer to OpenCms, a overview of how the pre-installed demo<BR>
website is put together would be valuable teaching aid, as it is extremely<BR>
hard to be able to reconstruct a working website of ones own, only by<BR>
having a undocumented website of that complexity. OpenCms seems to be<BR>
quite powerfull, but at first glance the lack of documentation for a fully<BR>
working website such as that that comes with it, adds miles to the<BR>
learning curve.<BR>

Hi Ataul!<BR>
<BR>
changing a html resource, like an image or a style sheet, is not so easy.<BR>
- first you have to edit the file and publish it. this will automatically write<BR>
the changed file to the RFS (if properly configured)<BR>
- but the html resources are cached by the client browser, so you have to clear<BR>
the browser cache. for firefox, for instance: Tools -> Options... -> Privacy -><BR>
Cache -> Clear, but this does not always works for me :(<BR>
- so i have explicitly call the modified resource (for the style sheet:<BR>
<A href="parse.pl?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A8080%2Fopencms%2Fexport%2Fsystem%2Fworkplace%2Fcommons%2Fstyle%2Fworkplace.css" target=_blank><FONT color=red>http://localhost:8080/opencms/export/system/workplace/commons/style/workplace.css</FONT></A>)<BR>
and do a hard-refresh, for Firefox: Ctrl-F5.<BR>

Hi <BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
We have installed Opencms as ROOT under webapps. The setup went through<BR>
fine but comes up with an error page" /index.html resource not found,<BR>
when you try the Opencms welcome page. Also get the same resource not<BR>
found error for the workplace. Tried re-installing opencms it but get<BR>
the same error. Operating system is Suse Linux, Tomcat 5.0.30-beta,<BR>
MySQL 4.0.24, java JDK 1.4.2<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
Are there any known issues with Opencms as ROOT in a Linux system.<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
I would really appreciate all help,<BR>

Hi Corsin,<BR>
<BR>
Thanks for your reply.<BR>
<BR>
I used <A href="parse.pl?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A8080%2Fopencms" target=_blank><FONT color=red>http://localhost:8080/opencms</FONT></A> for the welcome page and<BR>

<BR>
Adding another opencms in front comes up with an error : cannot read xml<BR>
configuration. Cannot identify WEB-INF folder, modify opencmshome in<BR>
web.xml. <BR>
<BR>
In web.xml param name DefaultWebApplication value is ROOT. Other then<BR>
that cannot find opencmshome.<BR>
<BR>
Cheers<BR>
Hari<BR>
