and Responsibilities:<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Arial;">The
Research Programmer position will join a team of 11 professionals
responsible
for providing a variety of standard and custom information technology
services
and applications to the University Library and its users.<span style="">
</span>The Library Systems Office serves over 40
departmental libraries and browsing rooms located in 23 campus
buildings, plus
the library’s administrative units.</span><b style=""><span
style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Arial;"><o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Arial;">Responsibilities
for this position include: Software development and integration,
particularly
focused on the implementation and enhancement of the Library’s Web
Content
Management System (OpenCms) based on a Java/XML framework; Database
design
and
programming; Creation of both internal and end-user documentation;
Providing
technical assistance to and consultation with library faculty and staff.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Arial;">This
position provides an opportunity to work in a complex, multi-vendor
computing
environment.<span style=""> </span>The Library Systems Office
utilizes a number of Linux, Windows 2003, Solaris, and AIX servers to
provide
access to hundreds of applications and databases for the University
Library.<span style=""> </span>The Library’s nearly 1000
workstations are predominantly Windows 2000, XP or 2003. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

to employees (coverage for dependents may be purchased); participation

State Universities Retirement System is required upon appointment (8%
