Since the version history was mentioned: OpenCms will keep old content
around in its version history. The default is either 10 or even 20 old
copies, I am not sure right now, which of the two it was.
You can set the amount of historic copies lower, although as far as I
know, this can only be done globally, not per file type. The setting
should be in opencms-vfs.xml. So, it's not necessary to export and
re-import content, just to get rid of the version history.

Hi
I found this problem myself - mysteriously the DB size does not shrink on
deletion even when the history settings are set to not keep deleted objects.
Perhaps the developers can comment?
One work around is to export all the content and modules into a new 'empty'
opencms installation. You'll lose all the version history but the size will
shrink. You could use the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of
opencms at the same time.
If you have particularly large content items such as video, you could keep
this outside of opencms to reduce the db size (of course you'll lose the
content management for these items!). This is the downside of keeping all
content in the database.

Hello all,
I'm maintaining quite a big content rich website using OpenCms 7, and the
mysql database is gone way over 10GB. I deleted about 1.3 GB of content from
the VFS by creating a module, exporting it and the deleting it.
After that, the database size actually grew with about 1 GB. I deleted the
history for the deleted files from the administration view and still, the
database isn't getting any smaller.
Have you ever encountered such a situation? There has to be a solution,
otherwhise, the database will never get smaller as the content is dropped
from the website.
Thank you,
Chuck

Hi,
Is there any module (or bult-in functionality) for scheduled publishing in
opencms 7 (I know there was not in 6), or if my customer wants it, should I
have to develop it myself?
When is opencms 7.5 beta launch scheduled? What will be its primary new
funcionalities?
Why a 7.0 - 7.5 sudden jump?
Thanks!!!...
JORDI MART?

When I set up a confirmation page for the user registration page, if the
button to go back and fix an entry, you are returned to the registration
page to make the corrections (works as expected). However, if the entries
are correct and you hit the submit button, the submission fails. I checked
the logs and don't see any errors there. It appears the form never submits.
I set up the profile page and the confirmation page works correctly. The
confirmation email is generated as well. Has anyone experienced this
behavior?
I am using OpenCms 7.0.5
