You can send the exact portion of the log that recorded the error?<br>
validation error for connection ou xml ?<br>
<br>
I suggest that you begin to isolate the possible sources causing this<br>
problem:<br>
1 - Try install OpenCms 7.5.4..<br>
2 - Try install OpenCms 8 using Tomcat, or JBoss 4.2.2 (If work, problem<br>
descriptor jboss, xml, you need investigate)<br>
3 - Try install in other DataBase (MySql for exemple), preserving the<br>
environment, for test<br>
4 - Try install in some environment but only change O.S.<br>
5 - .....<br>

But I belive this problem cause with JBoss 4.2.0, because is responsible<br>
for carrying out this validation.<br>

I am currently in the middle of upgrading an opencms 7.5 installation to opencms 8.0. What surprised me is that the system seems to try exporting resources which have the "export" file system property set to "false". I have also poked around a little bit in the code of CmsAfterPublishStaticExportHandler and I could no indication of checking the "export" property.<br>
<br>
With earlier opencms releases were always skipped when they had the "export" property set to false. Has anybody else experienced something like this? Is this a deliberate change?<br>

I just wanted to share a solution to a problem I bumped into during an upgrade from opencms 7.5 to opencms 8.0. The problem was that the upgrade wizard somehow corrupted my opencms-search.xml because it wanted to patch an index source entry which wasn't even there. Even after this manual fix xml file was fixed the wizard died at the beginning of the module update phase.<br>

The eventual solution that I found was that i took the xml configuration files from a plain opencms 8 installation. I then looked at a diff between those files and my own old opencms 7.5 configuration and manually took added all entries that I needed to the default opencms 8 configuration files. With the manually fixed config files the update went through without problems.<br>

That said I still want to express big compliments about the updgrade wizards. They really save a lot of time and have made life for me sooo much easier over many releases now. And the level of control over which configuration changes are or aren't made is really helpful.<br>
