Yes, there is an apache running in front - the coupling is
done via mod_jk. But I don't understand your phrase
"rewriting" in this context. In my situation it would mean
to rewrite the URLs inside the HTML and Javascript - so the
apache would have to parse and change the content of the
https response.<br>

where I'm "rewriting" (proxying) using the html_proxy module.<br>
