<div>Hi,</div>
<div>we use opencms 8 with an old apache tomcat and an old java
runtime and now we want to run opencms on a newer tomcat (and
a newer jre, too):</div>
<div>Can we copy the "opencms" folder in tomcat5\webapps and
paste the folder to the new webserver tomcat7\webapps or is it
necessary that we start a new opencms installation and import
the exported sources?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thanks</div>

Depending on the version of Apache2, VirtualHost sections etc. you
may have to consider certain syntax changes in<br>
the <Directory > tag, namely Require all granted.<br>
<br>
Changes made to tomcat /conf/server.xml ?<br>
