Hi,

though this is the developer list I hope I´m in the right
place for asking questions on the installation of the
OpenCMS software.

I have tried installing the current version 40a23 on
a FreeBSD system and a Linux system. The installation
fails at the same stage in both tries.

The versions of the additional components is as follows:

- Linux: SuSe Linux 6.0 or
- FreeBSD: 3.4-Current

- Apache 1.3.12
- ApacheJserv 1.0
- JDK 1.1.8
- JSDK 2.0
- mysql jdbc 2.1.2
- xerces 1.0.1

Everything runs beutifully in the first place.
Apache is up and running with jserv, doing a "Hello"
works fine.

The installation of the databases also works out but
the next steps fail (from step 6 on in the "documentation"):

"jre -cp opencms.jar [...] < config/cmssetup.txt" results in:

[CmsInitMySqlFillDefaults] initialized rb-network and filling in some
defaults...
[CmsInitMySqlFillDefaults] rb-network initialized
[CmsResourceBroker] using com.opencms.file.CmsRbUserGroup

The entry /home/opencms/opencms_40a23/workplace/pics might not be correct,
but I tried
setting the "addMountPoint" in cmssetup.txt to /system/workplace/pics/ and
it didn´t work either.
I guess the cmssetup.txt file is the reason the directory can not be read,
but I don´t have a
clue how to fix this.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Emre
