[opencms-dev] OpenCMS and publishing framework

Hello,

i have more of a strategic than a practical problem.
i've installed opencms successfuly and encountered a few things that
prevented me from further investigation.
The idea and the current implementation of OpenCMS made a very good
first impression to me. Appart from the fact that it seems to run kind
of slowly, it has a really nice outlook and well shaped concepts like
user realms and workflow management.

my problem now is that i have not been able to look behind the basic
concepts of this tool. i think (or better i know) that xml will be the
content storage medium of the future. so what i would like to do is have
some realms in which certain users cannot do much more than filling out
forms (ideal way would be a dynamic form created from a dtd). the given
content is stored somewhere in pure xml. a publishing framework does the
deployment to the live server. (eg cocoon)

i hope something like this could be done with opencms, but i really do
not see how. i've looked over the javadoc files, but found that even
there was not much of explenation of the overall concept of opencms.
is there any hidden directory, whitepaper, scribble or whatever that i
have missed to read?

any help would be appreciated,
