Hi Karsten,
I have successfully used an offline browser tool. Here is a copy of an
earlier mail from the mailing list.
By the way, good question about the archive. Does the project team have any
plans for this? Do you need someone to set one up perhaps? Maybe we could do
this and host it if needed.

One thing you could use is an offline web browser utility that will download
your entire site that you have published to a local directory. You can then
take the created directory structure and publish it as a static site. I am
currently looking at WinHTTrack amongst others, it is freeware and you can
download it at: http://www.shareware.com
