[opencms-dev] How to build OpenCMS?

Hi!

I just checked out opencms from CVS and wondered how to build it.
There seems to be no documentation on what components are required and how
to build opencms correctly (I think somehow with ant ;-).

It would be nice, if someone could give me a start, because I'd like to
evaluate it for our company, if it's fitting for our requirements.

I tried the latest download release (4.4.0), but failed in several things
like installing the News module and the demo website, creating a new
project, ...

BTW I'm using Linux with MySQL.
