Hello,
I´ve just installed the openCMS 5.0 beta on a test system.
I have the documentation from opencms.org which is for ver. 4.6
How different are the versions, and does the introduction to using the
workplace still apply?
For instance, there is no test project at
localhost:8080/opencms/opencms/index.html, as described in the docs.
Whe I create a new project, the system will not allow use of the folder
projects as described. I only have the following folders:
<root>
-content
-download
-externallinks
-htmlgalleries
-moduledemos
-pics
-system
in the documentation, "projects" would be among them
I can choose any one of the above folders to go ahead, but then all
sorts of strange things happen when I go on. It would seem to me the
projects do not belong in one of these folders above?
When I look at the database tables I see something is happening - my
test projects show up in the cms_projects table.
Also, after I tried to import some images they showed up in the
webapps/opencms/export/pics/ folder of my Tomcat installation directory,
and are also accessible online. e.g. if I import an additinional gif
using the existing image gallery system I can find it at
localhost:8080/opencms/opencms/pics/system/whatever.gif
So I guess the question is, should I downgrade to 4.6 in order to have a
documentation that will apply, or is there something really obvious I am
missing.
Background info: I have installed opencms with tomcat 4.06, mysql on
win2000 sp3. When I am using the workplace I am logged in as a normal
user, as with this being a web interface this shouldn´t play any role.
