[opencms-dev] Integration of new Database

Hello,

how can I integrate a new database in OpenCMS?

Just do make an example. For example I want to integrate MS Access, for
which a JDBC connector exists. Do I have to change the
com.opencms.file.genericSql package? 

If yes, how?

Are there any other changes necessary?

Does OpenCMS work with JDBC 2.0 or even a higher version? It was quite a
long time ago since I have worked with JDBC last time...

I ask this questions to make sure, that a database change will not run in
immense delveopment costs.
