Hello,
I am looking for an OPEN SOURCE WCM system that
provides the usual functionality:
- Templates for page content & site structure
- Authoring interface (WYSIWYG or XML-based)
- Library services (check-in/check-out, version
control)
- Metadata
- User/group/role management and object security
(UNIX-like or ACL)
- Workflow
- Publishing (content + template merging, smart links,
dev/staging/prod)
Additionally, I have a specific non-functional
requirement: it must be possible to SEPARATE THE
CONTENT MANAGEMENT AND THE CONTENT DELIVERY. In other
words, the content is statically exported to the Web
server by FTP or file sharing. If you know of a
product that does not meet this requirement, please
let me know.
I have played with OPENCMS 5 rc2, and so far,
I like what I see.
If you have experience working with an OPEN SOURCE
WCM that lets SEPARATE CONTENT MANAGEMENT AND CONTENT
DELIVERY OPENCMS or other, it would be kind of you
to give your opinion. Besides what you like/dislike
about the features set, it would be appreciated if you
could comment on the following points:
- Project maturity (developers community, commercial
support)
- Product maturity (tech and end-user doc, bugs,
integration with other products)
- Performance, scalability, ease of customization,
cross-platform, etc.
Also appreciated are comments of the type: X is
better than/not as good as OPENCMS regarding ....
Please do not forget to mention the version of the
product.
I will gladly consolidate your answers and send a
SUMMARY TO THIS LIST IN 7 to 10 DAYS.
Thanks,
Robert
