There is no documentation on this as far as I know - I have just found out
things by experimenting myself. Let's hope that the new opencms version 5
documentation will include at least "the best practice guide lines" for this
as well.

The way I have solved this is by :-

- Create the "default project user group" by inheriting the users group.

- Create the "default project manager group" by inheriting the "default
project user group" you created before.

- Create a new project, which consists the selected set of recources from
the Explorer. So that the workflow and tasks view are available for this
project. Set the user group to "default project user group" and project
manager group to "default project manager group", when creating the project.

- Adjust the permission and ownerships accordingly in the explorer.
