[opencms-dev] Does Installation Require Root? (Hosting service?)

You need a restart of Tomcat. Well, not necessarily, but at least access
to the manager-application to deploy the war-file and to reload OpenCms
when you want to use new libraries resp. class-files. But direct access
to tomcat is better anyway, e. g. you have to be able to set the
file-encoding correctly.

Search for a hoster providing Tomcat and a supported database and the
things mentiones above. It also depends on how munch you would like to
spend, but _I_ suggest you better calculate 50 EUR for a good provider
and well done support or even more. Depends on if it will be or should
be a managed machine. Anyway, let me now your decision.
And maybe someone else has a better suggestion. Or ask the
OpenCMS-experts directly (http://www.alkacon.com). hehe.
