[opencms-dev] Struts Status?

I would like to use Struts in OpenCMS jsp pages.

My questions:

- why do I need the OpenCMS-Struts
(http://opencmsstruts.sourceforge.net/) code? I
thought I could install the latest Struts jars etc. in
Tomcat and then start using Struts just as any other
taglib.

- the OpenCMS-Struts project appears to be inactive.
There is no mailing list, there are some broken page
links, only an alpha release dated April 2003
available. Should I really use this?

- does anybody have experience in using Struts and
OpenCMS (with or without using above Sourceforge project)?
