To Whom it May Concern:

I am running Mac OS X on a G4 450 machine. I have two accounts on the
machine: the administrator and the worker account I use for everyday
stuff. I have Apache Tomcat 4.1.24 installed under my worker account. I
am using MySQL version 4.0.15.

I read that I had to change the default encoding of the JVM from
MacRoman to ISO-8859-1. I tried to do this several ways. The most
recent of which was adding the following lines to my .cshrc file (my
extended C shell)
##
setenv CATALINA_OPTS -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1
##
This did not work. Where should I set the file encoding? Does anyone
have a working script example they could share with me? I looked in the
mail archive but I could not find an example.

Thank you for your time and patience.
