[opencms-dev] Amharic OpenCms workplace translation

Hi everyone,

I am trying to translate the workplace of OpenCms to
Amharic (the national language of Ethiopia), following
the instructions in the alkacon documentation
“howto-workplace-translation”. But I have encoding
problems. I have set up both tomcat and OpenCms to
UTF-8. I edit mysql.url of  opencms.properties file to
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/opencms?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=utf-8.
When I change the language I get strange characters as
value of translated vocabulary of the workplace. 

I am using Tomcat 4.1.27, j2sdk1.4.1_02, mysql-4.0.13,
Windows XP and IE 6

Any ideas please?
