exactly this seems the problem. Have you tried to use portnumber from your
mysql additionally?
> 	dbUser=root


well, this is not soo good :-) hope this is development enviroment :-)

P.D you can have a look into opencms.properties. There you should find the
conf from opencms itself and this should be working too!
