[opencms-dev] including parts of an html or plain file with cms:template cms:include

I can include parts of a jsp in another jsp using the element tag, but when I try it with a plain file it includes the whole file.

anyone have an idea how this can be done easily before I start writing regexp code.

Also, can you change a file type in opencms? Say from plain to jsp.
