[opencms-dev] Access to OpenCMS connection pool

this has not been taken care of so far, ie. the API for this does not yet
exist. I am open for any suggestions / code contributions here.

Dear opencms devs,

using the cvs version (5.3.6+), what is the proper way for a module to
obtain a connection from OpenCMS' connection pool and therefore perform SQL
queries ?
Is it also possible to retrieve the current db type so that it is possible
to have custom versions of the scripts for the different dbs (MySQL, Oracle,
etc)
