Apologies if this is a duplicated post - I joined the
list, made a post, and instead of an archive got a
load of email in German - I switched delivery off,
planning to read the archives online - but it seems
the mail archive is borked. So have no clue if this
went through am trying again.

Hi

I have a couple of projects that opencms could be
perfect for, so I have made a test install to have a
good look at it(I also bought the new book by Matt
Butcher, it has a lot of useful info)

One of my projects is a website that could have up to
25 languages on it, hence my interest in opencms due
to it's support for multilanguages in release 6. So I
have made an install of 5.3.6.

Seemed to compile and install fine. And my tests with
a small simple site using info from the book has
worked well.

Problem is a lack of a news module.

Is there one that works with 5.3.6? The book refers me
to opencms.al-arenal.de for modules, but is seems to
be down. The RSS based one on the opencms website
depends on installation on the 5.0 demo site which
when I attempt to install under 5.3.6 crashes and
burns.

And now to cap it all, I just read that the news
module running on the opencms.com site is _not_ open
source, and it was that module that got me me
interested in opencms in the first place:(

So could anyone get me a link to a news module that
works under 5.3.6, and how much is Alkacon module?

And if there isn't a working 5.3.6 module, could
someone give me a link to a module for 5, that is less
of a hack than the RSS one.

TIA
daniel
