[opencms-dev] Can more than 50 websites build on opencms?

I think you need to be more specific as to what is your concern. I can
think of 50 sites that it can handle easily and then I can think of 50
sites that certainly would make it a challenge.
Note it is also important to consider how you deploy them - do they
share a lot of information, who needs access to edit the page ans so
on.
OpenCms 5 does not have a concept of sites as such - if they can share
the same filestructure in the VFS then fine, just have the virtual host
setup point to the right folders in VFS. If that is not an option, then
you'll have to run separate instances per site, which works as well,
but there's memory considerations and most importantly the connections
to the database (5.0.1does occasionally 'leak' connections at least
when working with MySQL).
In OpenCms 6 (aka 5.3x) introduces a site concept, so it may be a
better match depending on your needs.
