You should give us some kind of logs: Stack Trace of OpenCMS/Tomcat, 
SegFault Message, etc.

Once I could not upload a large file (19.4M) over a 2300/512 K/bit DSL 
line. I didn't resolve the issue, but I wondered if MySQL chose to close 
the connection before the file was in the VFS.
