Yes, if you have backup for your opencms database and tomcat webapp you
should be able to recover the site. You should not even have to run the
setup. However, if you decide to run the setup tool do the following:

1) Backup your opencms register.xml file.

2) Run the setup, but do not create new database or import the
workplace

3) Copy your register.xml file you backed up before on top of the new
one created by the setup process

Hopefully this helps,

Olli

Hi

is there any chance to restore an OpenCms Sytem? It was the operating system
that crashed, not the Cms.
Suppose you have MySQL DB with your existing data (opencms tables inside -
this part is already running)
and a backup ofTomcat OpenCms file. Is there a chance to get this two pieces
connected and running again?

I tried to start a new setup with the existing DB, but the workplace cannot
be created this way.

Thanks,
Tomaz
