sure, you´re right. But when we started with opencms-forum.de there was 
no support from the community. Mostly all problems got their answer from 
synyx members. But in practice for beginners a forum is much more easy 
to handle than a mailinglist. And when i try to get a result via google 
or yahoo or metager only metager showed the opencms.org mailinglist 
articles and not only the webbased.

no, this will enhance the community ... have a look at the php-comm´s
