Hi all:
There are lots of multilanguage posts, what about a multilang site
construction mini-howto ?
Structure
- OpenCms 5 ??
- OpenCms 6
Proposed site structure 1
-------------------------
root/contents/...content folder structure here.../xmlcontent1.xml --> this
is a sibiling, the content is multilang, with all the neccesary
translations. The content publishers access the contents here, viewing all
the translations
root/en/ --> this folder fixes the locale to "en"
root/en/index.html
root/en/contents/...content folder structure here.../xmlcontent1.xml -->
this is a sibiling
root/es/ --> this folder fixes the locale to "es"
root/es/index.html
root/es/contents/...content folder structure here.../xmlcontent1.xml -->
this is a sibiling
Virtues
-------
Content placed under one folder structure
Possible script to generate the multilang structure sibilings --> auto
sibiling synchronization
Flaws
-----
Content publication restriction: must publish all translations at once,
posible translators interference, time to publish is the MAX time of
translators
Workflow
--------
1. Content manager defines the main folder structure
2. Content manager defines the content schemas (xsd), templates (jsp) and
languages (configuration xml)
3. Generation of language folders
4. Editor inserts the content
5. Translators do their work
6. Publisher do their work
7. Static export ?is possible? (i don't know)
