Only when there is a firewall between your webserver (opencms) and your database. 9 out of 10 the webserver and database server are installed on te same machine so no firewall config is necessary

Onderwerp: [opencms-dev] mySQL port 3306 and firewalls
Hello,
Is is necessary to open up mySQL port 3306 through the firewall for OpenCMS 5.0.1 to function? My feeling is that this is not necessary but could someone confirm this?
Thanks,
John
