[opencms-dev] Caching in opencms

Hi,
I am quite keen on recommending using Opencms in our company but
performance is a critical issue for us. I would like to know how the
OpenCMS caching (Flex cache)  is currently being done. Is 
the cache being stored in the files system or is it stored somewhere
else? How is it better than other caching systems? Also how can I set
load balancing inside OpenCMS. Please let me know.
