[opencms-dev] v6 alpha 3 installation question

Hello all,

First, thanks for developing such a great product - we've been looking 
at v5 and love it.  Now we are trying to get v6 up and running, and are 
having a problem.  I've tried searching through the archives for it, but 
I'm still green to the java world (my dayjob is asp.net development), 
and I'm really sure what to even search for.

We are running gentoo linux, with Apache2, and Tomcat5.  We ran through 
the installation instructions quite nicely, including the very clean and 
elegant online-setup wizard.  There was one hitch: we have Xerces2.6 
running, but the install complained it could only find v1, not sure if 
thats a problem.

The issue we are having is this:  we can login okay, but when the 
workbench comes up, the paths are incorrect, so

http://[server]:8080/opencms6/opencms/system/workplace/views/top_fs.jsp

comes up okay, but inside, the link to say, explorer.js looks like:

/opencms6/resources/commons/explorer.js

This url is invalid.

/opencms6/opencms/system/workplace/resources/commons/explorer.js

resolves, but I'm not sure how to get it to go there?  Inside of 
top_fs.jsp, there is a call to wp.getSkinUri() as the path base.  I 
could of course just remove that and put in a static link, but I'm 
hesitant to for obvious reasons.  My brother thinks that possiby it is a 
permissions issue with Tomcat?

Is this a simple problem?  Is there something obvious we have 
overlooked?  Again, my apologies if this is already in the list - I 
looked, but could not find. :(
