[opencms-dev] Altering Logon Method

Rene Ramirez prez at rarewebdesign.sytes.net

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone has altered the way the login handles starting
the workspace. I am running Norton Internet Security which comes with a
pop-up blocker. Unless I disable this portion of my software, I can not log
in. Is there a way to alter the code so that it doesn't start the workspace
as a "pop-up"?

Thank you
Rene Ramirez

Finally made it through the install on RedHat EL 3.0 (AS). After logging
in, the workplace comes up but all of the graphics are not found. It is
pointing to them at /opencms/resources/, and I can see on the file
system they are in
webapps/opencms/WEB-INF/ocsetup/vfs/system/workplace/resources/. While I
try to untangle the labyrinth of possible and actual rewrites in
opencms.preferences, I thought I'd see if someone had a quick answer
here. Thanks!

It is a learning process for me. I have finally
figured out how to create a data content template for
these structured content. To render these data
content, I need to enter the "template-elements" a url
link to the (jsp) template page that can render this
content.

Is there a have this value inserted automatically when
the content record gets created the first time?

For instance, when I create a new structured content
such as article_001.html, the "template-elements"
property value is automatically assigned a URL link
pointing to another jsp type page.

Thanks in advance.

Did you copy the datetime.jar into WEB-INF\lib directory?

Hi Ulrich,

did exactly this but ... here is the outcome:

org.apache.taglibs.datetime.TimeZonesTEI

Requested
resource:
/system/modules/info.rueth.opencms.articles/templates/InfoRuethNewss.jsp
OpenCms version: 6.0 alpha 3 Caladan
OpenCms context: /opencms/opencms

a slight different error!!! :-((

I would be grateful if you can find out what kind of stupid thing I did!

Thanks for your help

Martin

That configuration option is now located in the file opencms-vfs.xml. There
is a set of parameters you can pass to the CmsJspLoader, which handles the
JSP generation.

In opencms-vfs.xml locate the line:

<loader class="org.opencms.loader.CmsJspLoader" />

And replace it with something like this:

<loader class="org.opencms.loader.CmsJspLoader">
	<param
name="jsp.repository">/ust/local/tomcat/webapps/opencms/</param>
	<param name="jsp.folder">/WEB-INF/jsp/</param>
</loader>

The default for the "jsp.repository" (in Tomcat) is the web application
folder of OpenCms. The default for hte jsp.folder (inside the application
folder) is "/WEB-INF/jsp/". The folder where the JSPs are stored in the end
is jsp.repository + jsp.folder. So you also could initialize on of them with
the empty String and just give the full path where you want the JSPs written
with the other one.

That init process is done in class
org.opencms.loader.CmsJspLoader#initConfiguration() [starts line 284].

Can you please mail me if you have success installing OpenCms 6.0 with BEA,
and if so what kind of configuration tweaks where required?

Best Regards,
Alex.

Weide:

I think you want to set the template-elements property on the directory
in which you store article_0001.html, etc. This will set the default
template-elements property for all the content created in that
directory.

EXACTLY! That was the problem! Thanks SO MUCH for your help!

As a hint; could you please amend "step 3" in your docu and underline the
fact
that this datetime.jar should be copied to the WEB-INF/lib? I don't know if
this is mentioned somewhere else but even then, a duplicated entry shouldn't

harm!

Thanks again for taking the time to troubleshoot my problem.

After booting the server or restart the application server (JBoss), the
first acces on OpenCms or our portal is very slow.

Is it possible to accelerate (pre load, cache etc..)?

Hello

I am using OpenCms6Beta1. I have read "OpenCms 6.0 interactive
documentation: How to translate the OpenCms Workplace". I tried to create
localization module for Polish according to your documentation. After that,
I have new position in Preferences->Workplace->Language. But after switching

to Polish I still have workplace in English. Even after restarting my
application server - jboss4.0.1.

My file workplace_pl.properties contnent is;
version=$Revision: 1.2 $
name=Polski

button.publish=Publikuj

Do you have any module for any localization, which I cann install into
OpenCms6Beta1 and test?

Regards
Marek

Weide,

when defining the reource type of your structured content in the OpenCms XML
configuration or your module manifest file, you can use the "param" node to
define properties which should be applied to an new resource of this type:

<type class="org.opencms.file.types.CmsResourceTypeXmlContent">
	<param
name="property.create.template-elements">${ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_DETAIL_JSP}</par
am>
	...
</type>

Betreff: [opencms-dev] How to automatically assign template-elementsproperty
value?

It is a learning process for me. I have finally
figured out how to create a data content template for
these structured content. To render these data
content, I need to enter the "template-elements" a url
link to the (jsp) template page that can render this
content.

Is there a have this value inserted automatically when
the content record gets created the first time?

For instance, when I create a new structured content
such as article_001.html, the "template-elements"
property value is automatically assigned a URL link
pointing to another jsp type page.

Thanks in advance.

Weide

Hi ,

I would like to ask questions about this tutorial. I would like to
create a structured content with the resource type "article".

Is it always necessary to create a Xml schema, even if the resource type
is defined is the wizard ?
When I want to create a first article, I suppose that I do not have to
create a "Generic XML content" but a "Article".
On the step 5, it is written : "Connect the detail page to the XMl
content using the 'template-elements'
property". How do I process ?
I suppose that I do not need to localize the XML content editor and
providing help texts for the resource type "article".
I suppose that I do not need to add my own resource type and workplace
context menu because the resource type "article" already exists.

Regards,
Xavier

If you are talking about v6 beta 1 , i had the same problem on Fedora core
3.
The problem was that some SQL statements cleaning the file history tables
were not compatible with MySQL 3.23.
During a static publishing there is an exception that breaks the process.
Thus, the rest of the resources won't become exported. Have a look at the
logfile (WEB-INF/logs/opencms.log).
The problem should be fixed in the current CVS (Thanks to Michael Moossen).
If you want to continue using v6 beta 1 you can alternatively turn off the
file history (there is a message by Michael Emmerich from yesterday
explaining how to do this, look for BatchUpdateException in the subject) or
you can switch to MySQL 4.x.

Regards,

Stephan

Just execute it:
this build file (/modules/build.xml) will call the another build file,
that now builds just the core without modules (/build.xml)

Ok, thanks.

I have to copy the part of the build.xml of the module to the general
build.xml or just execute this build?

[Marc Fievet] Regards
MARC

You have to use modules/build.xml file in order to get war with modules.

you should better create your own module with OpenCms and let OpenCms
generate the manifest.xml.
but you can still do it by your own, just omitt those nodes.
