[opencms-dev] Setup question - initial database connection

I have been trying to set up opencms for a couple days now. I think
there are several things preventing me from proceeding. My server runs
Fedora Core 2; tomcat version is 4.1.31. I am using mysql version 3.23.

I find the setup documentation unclear in relation to database creation.
The documentation says:

"Follow the instructions of the OpenCms Setup-Wizard, using the
”Standard” setup. It
will set up the OpenCms database and import all workplace resources into
the system."

I find that to be less info than I need. I don't understand what I
should fill in on the page that asks for "Database Server Connection"
and "OpenCms Connection". I assume the first one requires that I use the
admin user for mysql. It seems to create the database if I do that. But
what is the second one, the "OpenCms Connection" stuff? Should this be
an existing mysql user? Or does the database creation code create the
user and password? I get an error on setup if I just make up a user such
as "opencms" with password "opencms".

I have scanned the mailing list archives for answers to this, and also
perused the jsp pages in ocsetup. I still don't get it.

Looking forward to your help.
