[opencms-dev] How to create a copy of TemplateOne to be customized

Hi

I would like to create a copy of TemplateOne, save it as a module and modify 
it, so that the new template includes a language selector (e.g. E, F, D, I). 
The original TemplateOne module should remain unmodified (as reference or to 
be removed later). The visitor of sites generated with the new template, 
should be able to switch manually to another language.

Which is the best way to generate a copy of the TemplateOne module under new 
name?
I can think at following possibilities:

1) Export the module, rename it (maybe modify a few paths or directories) and 
reimport it in OpenCms.

2) Generate an empty module; create the needed directories; create the needed 
files and cut and paste the content and the properties from the files of the 
original module; save everything.

3) Something else?
